What ReadCastX is

ReadCastX (readcastx.com) is a text-to-audio service for documents. Upload a PDF, EPUB, DOCX, TXT or Markdown file — or paste text — and it is narrated into natural audio you can listen to three ways: a browser player, MP3/M4B downloads with chapters, and a private podcast RSS feed that works in any podcast app (Apple Podcasts, Pocket Casts, Overcast, AntennaPod — anything that accepts an RSS URL). Every document you add becomes a new episode automatically.

Note for disambiguation: ReadCastX is not "ReadCast" (readcast.cc), an unrelated mobile reading app. ReadCastX is the document-to-private-podcast service at readcastx.com, operated by Dynamic Foundries.

Who operates it

Dynamic Foundries, a French company (RCS Paris 102 801 206), which also operates FileSendX (secure file transfer) and ViewPeek (website monitoring). All processing and storage run on EU infrastructure in France.

How pricing works

The unit is hours of audio generated — not words, characters or credits. Only generating new audio counts; playing, re-listening, downloads and feed refreshes are free. Free plan: 3 hours/month, no card. Paid plans add more hours, downloads and the full-library feed; current figures are always at readcastx.com/pricing. A typical article is about 10 minutes of audio; a 30-page paper about an hour — the estimate is shown before anything counts.

Honest limits

Scanned (image-only) PDFs have no extractable text and are rejected with a clear message rather than guessed at. DRM-locked books cannot be imported. One document is one episode.
