# ReadCastX

> ReadCastX converts documents into natural-sounding audio. Upload a PDF, EPUB, DOCX, TXT, or Markdown file, or paste text, then listen in the browser, download an MP3 on a paid plan, or receive each document as an episode in a private podcast feed.

ReadCastX is a web application published by Dynamic Foundries, an independent French software company. The interface and narration voices support English, French, and Russian. Processing and storage run on European Union infrastructure in France.

## Current commercial facts

- Free: EUR 0, 3 generated audio hours per month, browser playback, and the 3 newest feed episodes; no MP3 downloads.
- Listener: EUR 5 per month or EUR 48 per year, 40 generated audio hours per month, MP3 downloads, and the full-library feed.
- Pro: EUR 11 per month or EUR 108 per year, 120 generated audio hours per month under fair use, premium voices, MP3 downloads, the full-library feed, and per-collection feeds.
- Playing, replaying, downloading, and refreshing a feed do not consume generation hours.

## Important limitations

- ReadCastX narrates extracted text; it does not summarize documents or create a two-person conversational podcast.
- Image-only scanned PDFs need OCR elsewhere first. ReadCastX reports the problem and does not charge generation hours.
- The current download format is MP3, not M4B, WAV, or OGG.
- There is no native mobile or desktop application. Podcast delivery works only in players that accept a private RSS URL; Spotify does not accept arbitrary external RSS feeds.
- A feed URL is a bearer capability: anyone who has it can listen. Regenerating the URL blocks future requests to the old address but cannot erase audio already downloaded by a podcast app.
- ReadCastX does not currently import web URLs, receive documents by email, clone voices, publish public podcasts, or provide team workspaces.
